Getting to know Atanas
What can participants expect to take away from your presentation?
‘How composites can benefit design and satisfy the needs of architects. How wood can help to achieve affordable and structural composite material with high design value.’
Looking at the 2019 CompIC programme, aside from your own, who’s presentation are you looking forward to?
‘Structural Performance of Steel-Free Bridge Deck Panel – Dr Hesham Tuwair, Dhofar University. Our company is involved in a design competition for a pedestrian bridge deck made from composites and we are interested in the work of Dr Tuwair.’
What excites you about the future of the use of Composite Materials in the Construction Industry?
‘Architects and engineers in architecture have always been trying to overcome gravity and achieve lightness in their designs. Composite materials give great possibilities for new design typologies and truly light and optimum structures. This freedom of design is very exciting.’
What do you like to do in your spare time?
‘Spending time with my family.’
