Getting to know Geraint

What can participants expect to take away from your presentation?

‘Participants can expect the importance of accurate testing data for construction purposes. The talk will cover some common pitfalls of composite materials, which could compromise their test results and show that composites testing isn’t as straight forward as metals testing.’

Looking at the 2019 CompIC programme, aside from your own, who’s presentation are you looking forward to?

‘I am looking forward to seeing Ali Assi’s presentation on GRP Piping failures and Dr Marcel Inhestern’s talk on Composite Rebars.’

What excites you about the future of the use of Composite Materials in the Construction Industry?

‘I am excited by both the prospective reduced inconvenience due to delays etc.. caused by construction projects and the increased architectural design freedoms that composites can offer.’

What do you like to do in your spare time?

‘I play Australian Rules football, Rugby, 5-a-side football and I am involved in a local political party.’
